Summary of Position

This position supports the Registrar by working with multiple student information systems to process students from incoming advising through graduation and bar application, including building courses, assessing transfer credits, and supporting students each registration cycle. In addition, this position collaborates with the Registrar and faculty to ensure compliance with academic policies and procedures, develop curriculum maps, maintain/build pages and courses within the learning management system and website, oversee advising software systems, and streamline communications through technology, and other duties as adjacent or assigned.

  • Working knowledge of administrative information systems/databases and web-based applications and prior experience with Excel. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and evaluate systems, train and support those using systems, and make iterative improvements based on experience and/or feedback. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with students, faculty, and administration. 
  • Ability to develop new programs and protocols, and work with a cross-functional team to implement change across an institution. 
  • Ability to interact with individuals on sensitive and highly confidential matters. 
  • Willingness to work some non-standard hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Experience advising students or experience with law school curriculum, including requirements for JD graduates pursuing state bar licensure, and the nature of law school electives and legal specialization, preferred.

Duty/Responsibility

Registrar Support (70% time)
  • Work with multiple student information systems to process students from incoming advising through graduation and bar application, including building courses and supporting students each registration cycle.
  • Maintains sensitive and confidential information involving student records.
  • Create semester ranking information for students.
  • Work with the Registrar on office policies, rebuilding and maintaining the public-facing website, and streamlining communication with students through technology to achieve consistency and efficiency.
  • Assists the Registrar in evaluating transcripts of incoming transfer students and assigning appropriate and equivalent credit for prior work.
  • Ensure compliance with all academic rules.
  • Oversee student advising software systems, including training faculty and staff.
  • Maintain/build the Canvas information sites for students and faculty.
  • In collaboration with the Career Services Office, support JD and graduate students through advising and curriculum mapping.
  • Collaborate with faculty in curriculum mapping, including certificate pathways.
  • Support students as a member of the student success team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duty/Responsibility

Bar Support (10% time)
  • Maintains the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the official student records with emphasis on bar applications.
  • Assists students in completing institutional and bar forms. Completes bar applications and compiles statistics
  • Prepares educational/bar certifications and other appropriate responses to state bar examiners requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duty/Responsibility

Examinations and Grades (10% time)
  • Manages examination procedures and aids in the assurance of anonymous grading system
  • Monitors exam submissions in accordance with ADA & ESL accommodations.
  • Manages exam retention and destruction in accordance with established policies, regulations and industry guidelines.
  • Assists faculty members in the compilation and data entry of their grades.
  • Responsible determining semester class rank and sending rank letters
  • Answers questions and addresses students concerns about the grading process
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duty/Responsibility

Course Scheduling & Registration (10%)
  • In coordination with the Registrar, work with UNH main campus departments to institute student electronic self-service registration and other systems, including but not limited to assignment of term dates and course creation with level assignments with assistance from the Registrar.
  • Responds to student questions about the registration calendar, registration process, and application of relevant academic rules.
  • Organizational & Outreach Services (as needed and connected to the duties above)
  • Participates on law/university committees and other regional and national organizations pertaining to responsibilities within the registrar’s purview.
  • Guide faculty/ staff members on academic policies and procedures, including assisting faculty committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
