Summary:

This position is responsible for the duties and operation in the areas of warehouse and inventory control management, receipt of goods from suppliers, shipment of supplies, samples and commercial product.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Receive incoming materials purchased on Purchase orders. Confirms material received matches the P.O and processes the receipt transactions
  2. Prepare and maintain documentation for receiving, inventory and shipping transactions performed in ERP system
  3. Initiate documentation per SOP for receipt of cGMP materials and performs receiving inspection for some components and moves materials for Quality Assurance to place in Quarantine
  4. Coordinate material movement, sampling and labeling of raw materials and components with Quality Assurance
  5. Interact with Purchasing and Accounting personnel to resolve receipt and/or invoice discrepancies; coordinates and completes returns to vendor shipments and transactions
  6. Issue and transport raw materials and components for batch manufacturing between buildings in company vehicles
  7. Perform the physical tasks involved in receiving, shipping and storing of raw materials, finished products, in process used materials and other supplies and equipment
  8. Coordinate material and product transfers directly with Manufacturing personnel
  9. Perform various inventory transactions in the ERP system. Responsible for complete and accurate inventory transaction documentation and files
  10. Maintain required segregation, security, labeling and storage conditions for all inventory materials
  11. Perform routine cycle counts, evaluates variance reports, investigates discrepancies, and recommends corrective actions
  12. Transport formulated bulk product, batch samples and completed batches from Manufacturing with Quality Assurance
  13. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and working environment
  14. Operate material handling equipment in the movement and storage of materials
  15. Generate bills of lading, commercial invoices, pro-forma invoices and declarations of hazardous materials
  16. Prepare temperature sensitive filled product for shipment to commercial packaging partners as well as contract manufacturers per SOP's. Initiate and file shipping documentation. Track shipments to assure receipt at destinations.
  17. Prepare equipment, instruments and materials for shipment to suppliers for repair or calibration or lab testing.
  18. Ensure compliance to DOT and IATA requirements for shipment of hazardous materials.
  19. Perform duties per cGMP regulations and standard operating procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Interaction:

Primary reporting is to the Supervisor or Manager of Supply Operations. Interacts extensively with staff in most departments within the company. Coordinates the sampling and release of raw materials with QA. This person will have significant interaction regarding deliveries, scheduling with Manufacturing and interacting with freight carriers.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in logistics and warehouse operation required
  • cGMP experience a plus
  • High School diploma required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Familiar with a GMP operation and requirements
  2. Good written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills
  3. Must be computer literate and proficient with ERP inventory transactions
  4. Requires ability to work in an organized and detail-oriented fashion
  5. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and be self-motivated
  6. Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to peers on a day-to-day basis
  7. Willing to work with chemicals and hazardous goods
  8. Knowledge of handling temperature sensitive products in cold storage areas
  9. Familiar with clean room environments
  10. Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  11. Ability to operate material handling equipment
  12. Must have a valid California driver's license
  13. Familiarity with DOT, IATA regulations a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop/squat. Close vision and the need to focus on a computer screen, use of hands, fingers and wrist to type on a keyboard and manipulate a mouse is necessary (approximately 25% of workday). The position requires daily physical movement for extended periods of time (no less than 75% of workday) in order to move, ship, stage, stock, receive and deliver materials. Movement includes walking, standing, bending, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping, grasping, reaching and carrying. Daily physical movement includes pushing and pulling pallets of moderate to heavy weight using equipment, moving boxes weighing up to 60 pounds, operating pallet jacks, forklifts and driving company vehicles. The employee will need to enter and work in inventory storage areas including walk-in refrigerators and freezers.

Typical warehouse setting with workstation in an open warehouse style area. Employee is required to work in the warehouse, shipping and receiving areas where frequent opening of the door for deliveries occurs. Required to wear gowning in specific areas. Must wear protective gloves, safety glasses and safety shoes. Noise level is moderate to high with consistent truck deliveries, material handling equipment, printer, telephone ringing and conversation.

The base pay range for this role in California is $21.15 per hour to $29.09 per hour.This role is classified as non-exempt and eligible for over-time.
The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
