About the Role:

Oversees multiple functions related to bioanalysis within Discovery and Development. Manages the bioanalytical group and contributes to long term strategic planning to enable growth and enhance productivity, acts as primary point of contact for certain bioanalytical efforts, serves as a bioanalytical representative on discovery and development teams, and will provide mentorship to and supervise the day-today laboratory work of team members.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Develops strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives. Monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects. May develop budgets for capital expenditures and labor

  • Coordinates and manages the Bioanalytical/PK group's resources and timelines to ensure timely progress of the program based on the Corporate, Department and program team goals

  • Designs, executes or analyzes data from in-vitro studies to support in-life analysis and in-vivo pharmacology, pharmacokinetic and toxicology studies. Works with senior colleagues to implement novel methodologies to analyze drug candidates using bioanalytical techniques

  • Develops and implements novel methodologies to analyze drug candidates

  • Acts as a bioanalytical representative on discovery or development teams

  • Manages outsourcing of BA/PK/TK studies

  • Contributes to the preparation or review of regulatory submissions and study reports

  • Mentors or trains less experienced team members

  • Involved in strategic planning and development of bioanalytical team

  • Participates in or leads the development of strategic project / group goals and methods

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in Chemistry or closely related field and 15+ years of industry experience in an biotech, pharma, and/or CRO setting; Experience working in and accomplishing tasks a timeline driven setting; Experience in lab automation is preferred; Experience in large molecules and biomarkers bioanalysis is beneficial OR

  • MS/MA degree in Chemistry or closely related field and 12+ years of similar experience as noted above OR

  • PhD or equivalent and 8+ years of similar experience as noted above

  • Requires broad understanding of the processes, procedures and systems used to accomplish the team's work and familiarity with the underlying concepts in other disciplines within the function

  • Applies in-depth understanding of how own discipline integrates within the function and understands contribution to Neurocrine's achievement of business objectives

  • Has knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines

  • Works to improve tools and processes within functional area

  • Has reputation inside the company as it relates to area of expertise

  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams

  • Strong leadership skills and abilities, manages teams

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Sees broader picture, impact on multiple departments/divisions

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $166,700.00-$241,325.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
